About Gerry Lantz

Gerry’s story has always been about his clients and their business growth.

As a “creative guy in a business suit,” Gerry invented STORIES THAT WORK®, INC. to help clients grow externally with customers and internally with colleagues. STORIES THAT WORK applies storytelling and story structure to help clients discover and express compelling marketing communication strategies, branding and selling presentations,.

These narrative tools deliver brand platforms that generate authentic and interactive experiences with consumers. Gerry says, “I use stories to promote authenticity and to eliminate business blah-blah. I fight to peel away all the codes we use in business to talk to consumers and to our business partners. Today’s world is interactive and conversational. Let’s talk normally. It’s far more effective.”

Gerry works with national and international B2B and B2C corporations, design firms, ad/digital/PR agencies, executives, and entrepreneurs. His recent branding clients include Brooklyn CareWorks, SunGard Availability Services, and UltraLast Green Rechargeable Batteries. He has also helped sales executives at GlaxoSmithKline, Cisco, Universal McCann, Black & Veatch, and The Pacific Institute present more compelling stories when pitching and building business with customers.

As a senior officer at Ogilvy (Hershey, Unilever) and DDB (Hasbro Toys & Games), and Corporate Marketing Director at Ferrero USA (Tic Tac, Rocher, Nutella), he has directed marketing, sales, advertising, public relations, promotions and research initiatives for both global and domestic clients and brands. In recognition of his contributions, Gerry has received three Effies and two David Ogilvy Awards—both awards for marketing and communications effectiveness--and the Toy Marketing Association’s Award for Best Marketing, Advertising, & Promotion. He participated in the development of Hershey’s Hugs which won an Edison Award.
Though Gerry spent most of his working life in New York City, he was born and raised in the Midwest where raced a stock car on dirt tracks. He still likes to go fast and has ideas a-mile-a-minute.
